1Repair orders
A repair order is the record of one visit: the customer, the vehicle and mileage, the concern, what the technician found, the parts and labour used, and the customer’s approval. In AutoShop POS the RO (also called a job sheet) stays one record from check-in to invoice, so nothing is copied between papers.

A repair invoice lists each part with quantity and price, each labour operation with hours and rate, any shop supplies or disposal fee, discounts, and tax, plus the vehicle and odometer. AutoShop POS builds it from the approved repair order, so the invoice always matches the work.

A vehicle service history is the list of every repair order for one vehicle: dates, odometer readings, work done, parts fitted and recommendations made. In AutoShop POS it builds itself from closed repair orders, linked to the customer who owns the car.
Vehicle history in detail →4VIN lookup
A VIN decoder reads the 17-character vehicle identification number and returns facts encoded in it: the manufacturer (characters 1–3), the vehicle attributes (4–8), a check digit (9), the model year (10), the plant (11) and the serial number (12–17). Trim and options are often not fully encoded.
VIN lookup in detail →5Estimates
An estimate (or quotation) lists the parts and labour a job will need and what it will cost before work starts. The customer authorises some or all of it. In AutoShop POS an estimate is a quotation you convert into the invoice once approved.
Estimates in detail →6Parts inventory
Parts inventory tracking keeps a live count of every part you stock, where it sits, what it cost and what you sell it for. AutoShop POS reduces stock when a part is invoiced, raises alerts at reorder levels and records purchases from suppliers.

Billed (or flagged) hours are the labour hours charged to customers for work a technician did. Comparing billed hours with hours clocked in shows productivity. AutoShop POS totals billed hours per technician from labour lines and records clock-ins through its HR module.

Multi-location software runs several shops in one account, each with its own settings, while reporting across all of them. AutoShop POS Fleet gives every location its own invoice layout, prices and staff, and adds stock transfers and combined reports.
