1

Check the car in at the counter

Pick or add the customer, add the vehicle, record the odometer and the concern in the customer’s words. The RO number is assigned automatically.

  • Customer and vehicle in one step
  • Pre-repair checklist (lights, tyres, fluids…)
  • Custom fields for plate, key tag or bay
2

Inspect, then estimate

The technician records cause and findings; the advisor builds the estimate from parts and labour lines and sends it for approval by email or a WhatsApp link.

3

Assign the bay and the technician

Each RO and each labour line can carry a technician, so hours and commission add up on reports without a separate timesheet.

4

Close it as an invoice

When the work is done, the approved lines become the invoice: parts, labour, shop supplies and tax. Take payment and print or send the receipt.

5

Everything lands on the vehicle

The finished RO joins the vehicle history, with declined lines kept as recommendations for the next visit.

Concern · cause · correction

The three Cs, plus the two steps that get you paid

Service writers have used the three Cs for decades. AutoShop POS keeps them on the RO and wraps the estimate and the invoice around them.

  1. Counter

    Concern

What the customer says is wrong, written in their words.

  2. Bay

    Cause

What the technician found, with checklist results and notes.

  3. Advisor

    Estimate

Parts and labour lines sent to the customer for approval.

  4. Bay

    Correction

The approved work, parts used and hours booked per technician.

  5. Counter

    Invoice

One invoice, one payment, and a status message to the customer.

What it doesn’t do (yet)

  • Digital inspection photos and videos attached to individual RO lines are not built in; add notes and checklist results instead, and ask on your demo about photo attachments.
  • There is no customer-facing portal where the customer taps approve; you record the approval they give you by message or phone.

We would rather you know this before the trial than after.

Scan the codes: questions shop owners ask

RO-B201What is the difference between a repair order and an invoice?

The repair order is the working record of the job; the invoice is what the customer pays. In AutoShop POS the approved lines of the RO become the invoice, so you never retype them.

RO-B202Can I print a job card for the technician?

Yes. Every RO prints as a job sheet with the vehicle, concern, checklist and assigned technician, or the technician opens it on a tablet in the bay.

RO-W203Can I track RO status?

Yes. Each RO carries a status such as checked in, waiting for approval, waiting for parts, in progress or ready, and you can filter the list by status.

RO-W204Can the customer get a message when the car is ready?

Yes. Status changes can send an SMS or email from your notification templates, and you can send a WhatsApp link by hand.

RO-W205Can one RO have several technicians?

Yes. Each labour line carries its own technician, so a diagnosis by one tech and a repair by another are both credited.

RO-S206Can I add my own fields to the RO?

Yes. Custom fields hold things like plate number, key tag, fleet PO number or warranty claim reference.

RO-S207Does it work on a tablet in the bay?

Yes. AutoShop POS runs in the browser on any tablet, phone or PC; there is nothing to install.

RO-S208Which plans include repair orders?

All of them: Bay, Shop and Fleet.
